The Shaler Girls Volleyball team took a 3-0 loss to North Allegheny. Even with the tough loss the Titans showed fight as they continued to make their sets closer each time. The Titans were led by Dadowski with 7 kills, Maddie Wilson with 10 digs, and Miller with 11 assists.

The Titans got their first section win of the season with a thrilling 2-1 victory over North Hills. Naudia Zotter’s brace led the way as well as stout defending from the back line.

The Titans ended up taking a non-section match against Indiana by the score of 2-1. For Shaler, goals were scored by Lexi Tylenda and Piper Keane.
Boys Golf

Boys Golf dropped their first match of the year against Fox Chapel 189-193. The Titans were led by Jacob Crissman’s 36, Jake Skerlong’s 38, and Colby Weber’s 39.

The boys golf team defeated Hampton with their best ever score at Wildwood Golf Club 183-202. The Titans have earned a AAA playoff spot for the second year in a row with an overall record of 10-1, finishing 6-1 in section play.

The Titan soccer team lost a heartbreaker to North Hills 4-3. Anthony Tylenda gave the Titans a 1-0 lead going into halftime, but red cards to the starting goalkeeper, Garrett Grazier, and Conor McClean during the loss to Central Catholic limited the Titans’ depth and could not overcome a barrage of Indian shots. Other goals were scored by Luca Wallander and John Lamanna.

The boys soccer team was outmatched by a high-flying Fox Chapel team as they lost 6-0. The Titans look to get everyone back healthy for a matchup against Butler at home Tuesday.

The Shaler Girls golf team lost a close match to North Catholic 211-213. Our top scorers were Izzy Sciulli with 45, Katie Heinauer 52, and second year player Gwen Fudor with 56.
Football

The Shaler Area Titans defeated the Plum Mustangs 28-14 to improve to 3-0 on the year. Going into halftime, the score was tied 7-7 after a huge Keegan Smetanka touchdown pass to a wide open Kaden Orga, who had his best game of the season with 6 catches for 138 yards, including 2 highlight grabs that left the crowd absolutely stunned. In the second half, the Titans turned up the heat through Keegan Smetanka. Once again, the senior led the way for the Titans, throwing for 282 yards, a touchdown, and an interception, while also rushing for two touchdowns. While Plum running back Nicholas Odom rushed for two touchdowns, his effort was in vain as a Joe Rispoli touchdown run put the game out of reach and secured a Titan victory.

Smetanka: 16/24 for 282 passing yards and 1 touchdown, 2 rushing touchdowns
Orga: 6 catches for 138 yards and 1 receiving touchdown
Rozzo: 25 carries for 117 yards
