The Titans took down the Moon Tigers in a 3-0 sweep on their annual Dig Pink Night. The Dig Pink Night raised money for a great cause and celebrated Shaler athletic trainer Donna Rife, who is now six years cancer free. The Titans were led by Blank with 10 kills, Orga with 19 digs, and Miller with 39 assists.
Girls Soccer

Girls Soccer took home a 6-0 win against North Hills at home. The Titans jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead within the first five minutes and never looked back. Goals for the Titans were scored by Lexi Tylenda (2), Piper Keane (2), and Naudia Zotter (2).

Girls Soccer took a tough loss to Fox Chapel by a score of 7-0 on Wednesday. The game was at a stalemate for the first 20 minutes of the game until a goal by the Foxes broke the tie. The Foxes didn’t look back as they put two more goals on the board in the 1st half and four more in the 2nd.

Girls Soccer took home a senior night victory against Hempfield. The Titans honored their seven senior players in Aubrey Keane, Mariah Pellittiro, Lexi Tylenda, Piper Keane, Emily Bacasa, Maddie Primis, and Bella Keller. The game started off in the Titans favor with a ton of shots on net, but none connected for the Titans. The Titans would eventually get on the board with a Lexi Tylenda goal and never looked back as they would go on to win 8-0. Boys Golf

The Boys Golf team sent three members to battle in the WPIAL Individual Championship on Monday. The three Titan juniors, Jacob Crissman, Colby Weber, and Jake Skerlong, would have to finish in the top 14 to qualify for the PIAA Individual State Championship in two weeks. At the end of the round, Weber finished in 37th place, Skerlong finished in 32nd, and Crissman qualified by finishing in 6th. Crissman will compete in the state finals in two weeks at Penn State Blue Golf Course where he posted an impressive score of 66 earlier in the year.
On the team side, the Titans will compete next Tuesday in the WPIAL Semifinals and will be looking for their first appearance/WPIAL title in school history.
Boys Soccer

The Titan Boys soccer team lost a close match against Fox Chapel 2-0. The game was tied going into halftime, but a Fox Chapel goal around 10 minutes into the second half squashed Shaler’s hopes of a shutout. Trying to push for an equalizing goal, the Titans conceded again off an unfortunate own goal. Nevertheless, this was the best result against the Foxes for Shaler in years.

Shaler Area conceded 4 goals against Butler as they fell to the Golden Tornado 4-0.

On Shaler Hall of Fame Night, the Titans took on their cross town rival in the North Hills Indians. The Titans were looking for their first section win of the season and to snap their two game losing streak. The Titans had more excitement going into this week as key defensive player Carson Pierce made his return after missing the last two games.
The Titans started out rocky with two turnovers early which North Hills took advantage of as they went up 14-0. Unfortunately the Titans could not recover from the early setback as North Hills would go on to win 31-8.
One highlight of the night was a Keegan Smetanka 71-yard touchdown pass to Kaden Orga. The Titans will continue section play next week on the road against the Pine Richland Rams.
