The Boys Golf Team fell seven shots short of the first appearance in a WPIAL Championship in school history on Tuesday. The Titans needed to be one of the top three schools out of nine to make the championship. Unfortunately, the Titans finished in 4th place which concluded their season. This ended the team portion of the season for the Titans.
The Titans were led this year by seniors Joey Miller, Jake Kunce, Jacob Helfer, and Ben Sarnowski that made a major impact on the Boys Golf program. This class won the first section championship in school history along with having a 25-4 record over the past two years. Best of luck to the seniors in their future.

The Shaler football team traveled to Pine Richland for a section matchup on Friday. The Titans would need a win in this game to keep their playoff hopes alive. This would be a tough task against the Rams as they are just coming off an impressive upset win against the Central Catholic Vikings.
The game did not start out in the Titans favor. The Titan offense stalled for their first two drives and the Rams took their first two drives for touchdowns. Shaler would bounce back on their next drive when Keegan Smetanka found Sam Himrod in the endzone for a touchdown to make the score 14-7. The Rams would score one more touchdown and would go into halftime with a 21-7 lead.
Pine Richland came out strong after half with another touchdown. But once again, the Titans responded when Keegan Smetanka found Brandon London for a jump ball in the endzone. The Rams would take three penalties on their next drive and give the Titans momentum late in the 3rd quarter. The Titans would have the ball in the Rams red zone their next two possessions and looked to make a comeback on the Rams. Unfortunately, the Titans would turn the ball over on downs both times in the Rams red zone and Pine Richland ended up running away with the game. The Rams would go on to win 38-14.
Shaler’s night was highlighted by Joey Desabato, Kaden Orga, and Abe Cook. Desabato led the Titans in the air with 4 receptions for 147 yards. Orga and Cook both led the defense with 9 tackles each.
