Boys basketball took down the Pine Richland Rams on Wednesday by a score of 64-47. The game started off back and forth but the Titans went into the half up 29-21. After half, the Titans exploded by going on a 22-8 run in the third quarter. The Rams couldn’t respond and the Titans went on to win comfortably. The Titans were led by Brandon London with 18 points, Keegan Smetanka with 17, and Kaden Orga with 14.

The Titans avenged last year’s WPIAL playoff loss and kept their undefeated season alive with a 55-53 overtime thriller over South Fayette. In a back and forth affair, South Fayette’s Michael Plasko was the best player on the court, leading all scorers with 30 points. However, Shaler Area was able to respond to Plasko’s offense with a balanced attack of their own. For the Titans, Kaden Orga finished with 14 points (including 10 in overtime and the game winning buzzer beater), Brandon London chipped in with 13 and Keegan Smetanka had 12. The win takes Shaler Area to 4-0 on the young season.

Girls basketball got a win in their first home game of the season against the Bethel Park Blackhawks. The Titans played a strong first half going up 24-20 after Reese Smetanka had an 11-point second quarter and Bayleigh Perez drained a half court shot to end the half. In the third quarter, a 10-2 run by the Blackhawks cooled the Titans offense down. The Titans responded in the fourth quarter and went on to win 39-36. The Titans were led by Reese Smetanka with 16 points and Bayleigh Perez with 10.

Girls basketball took a loss to Upper St. Clair by a score of 45-37. The Titans trailed at half 23-16 but cut it to 33-31 at the end of the third quarter. Upper St. Clair would go on to put the game away in the fourth quarter after draining clutch free throws. The Titans were led by juniors Bayleigh Perez with 15 points and Jorga Bernesser with 12 points and 7 rebounds.
Boys Bowling

Boys bowling beat the Pittsburgh Central Catholic Vikings in a sweep of 7-0. The Titans won the games 985-890, 973-924, and 889-884. The Titan bowlers accumulated scores throughout the three-game series with Liam Creagh with a 647, Braden Scott with a 625, Josh Turner with a 537, Noah Lang with a 534, and Tyler Woistman with a 365 in two games.

Girls bowling had another unopposed match on Wednesday. The team was led by 3-game scores of 490 from Brooke Callahan and a 439 from Chloe Maurer. Also, single game-high scores of 197 from Chloe Maurer and a 136 from Gwen Fudor.
Wrestling

Wrestling defeated the South Fayette Lions by a score of 30-28. This match was a big response from last year as the Titans lost 54-23 to the Lions. Titans had wins from Jonah Cable, Trevor Cignetti, Vito Barravecchio, Anthony Jones, and Dustin Corefield.
