Boys Basketball

Boys Basketball avenges a section loss earlier in the year with a win against Woodland Hills, 67-55. The Titans started off strong going up 22-12 at the end of the first quarter. Woodland Hills would try to make a rally in the second and third quarter, but the Titans held the lead and would go on to win comfortably. The Titans were lead by another double-double by Brandon London who had 21 points and 14 rebounds.

The Titans went on the road and took down a tough Penn Hills team, 52-38. The Titans started out slow, going down 26-20 at half. The Titans responded with an amazing third quarter where they shut out Penn Hills completely and used a 13-0 run to take the lead. The Titans would close the game out and go on to win comfortably. The Titans were led by Keegan Smetanka with 18 points.
Shaler has the opportunity to clinch a section championship on Tuesday with a win over Armstrong. If the Titans win that game and Friday’s game against Fox Chapel, they would stand alone as section champions.
Girls Basketball

Girls Basketball honored seniors Hilary Quinn, Hanna Dejidas, and May Engel in a huge win over New Castle, 50-14. The Titans came out hot with a 32-4 run in the first half and never looked back. The Titans were led by Hanna Dejidas with 13 points.

The Titans dropped a close game against Mars, 41-38. The Titans were down nine points going into the fourth quarter but rallied to cut Mars’ lead within striking distance. The Titans couldn’t prevail in the end. Shaler Area was led by Bayleigh Perez with 19 points and Jorja Bernesser who almost had a double-double with 9 points and 9 assists.
Boys Bowling

Boys Bowling capped off an undefeated regular season by defeating Riverview 7-0. The Titans handled business in their three matches winning 852-547, 946-470, and 978-492. The Titans were led by Braden Scott who rolled a 627 three-game series and Liam Creagh with a 607 three-game series.
Boys Bowling will have a week of rest before they go on to compete in the WPIBL Team Championship on February 14th. Since the Titans won their section, they have an automatic bid at the Western PA Regionals. On the individual level, the Titans will send Liam Creagh, Noah Lang, Tyler Woistman, Braden Scott, and Josh Turner to the WPIBL Singles Championship which will be on February 21st.
Girls Bowling

Girls Bowling took down Riverview by a score of 7-0. The Titans battled all three games by winning 558-533, 582-524, and 616-566. This win secured the Titans second place in the section. Shaler was led by Brooke Callahan who rolled a 462 three-game series and Chloe Maurer with a 417 three-game series.
Girls Bowling will have a week off of competition then they will pick up at the WPIBL Team Championship on February 15th along with a trip to the Western PA Regionals. The Titans will also be sending Brooke Callahan to the WPIBL Singles Championship on February 22nd.
Wrestling

Wrestling defeated Gateway 46-21. The Titans had victories from Anthony Jones, Dustin Corefield, Jonah Cable, Alex Weber, Jack Begg, Jacob Cable, Trevor Cignetti, and Vito Barravecchio.
Hockey

Hockey won 6-3 against West Allegheny. The Titans had a strong performance in net from Shane Ciganik along with goals scored by Chase Irwin, Jake Skerlong, Jake Kunc (2), and Luca Wallander (2).
