Boys Basketball

On their senior night, boys basketball clinched a share of the section title with a victory over Armstrong, 61-35. The Titans honored eight seniors in Joey Desabato, Keegan Smetanka, Kaden Orga, Joey Miller, Brandon London, Sam Himrod, Julian Vizzoca, and TJ Belles. Shaler started off strong with a 43-16 lead at halftime. The Titans would put the game in a mercy rule in the second half and cut the nets down for their first section title since 2012.

The Titans finished their regular season by clinching the section outrightly with a win over Fox Chapel, 57-44. Fox Chapel came out hot in the first quarter going up 11-5, but the Titans responded by going up 30-26 at halftime. The Foxes kept it close until the fourth quarter where the Titans closed the game on a 15-5 run.
The Titans finished the year with a 20-2 record and were champions of Section 2 (5A). The Titans earned the #3 seed and will kick of playoffs at home on February 19th at 8:00 p.m. against #14 Chartiers Valley.
Girls Basketball

Girls Basketball took down the Hampton Talbots 44-40 at home. The Titans were down three going into half but used a 15-6 run in the third quarter to propel them to victory. The Titans were led by Bayleigh Perez with 17 points and Jorja Bernesser with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

In their final game of the season, the Titans defeated Fox Chapel, 48-39. The Titans were up four at half and continued to hold the lead until the end of the game. The Titans were led by Hilary Quinn who had three 3-pointers and Hanna Dejidas with 10 points.
The Titans finished their season with a record of 8-14 and 5th place in Section 2 (5A). They will say goodbye to seniors Hilary Quinn, Hanna Dejidas, and May Engel. Great season Titans!
Wrestling

Boys Wrestling defeated Knoch 54-21. The Titans had victories from Anthony Jones, Dustin Corefield, Braylon Ronel, Jonah Cable, Carter Tunstall, Alex Weber, Jacob Cable, Trevor Cignetti, and Vito Barravecchio.

The Titans had a tournament up at Pine Richland. Shaler went 3-3 at the tournament with victories over Avonworth 48-21, Conneaut Area 42-36, and Penn Hills 57-15.
Hockey

Hockey won a huge game over North Catholic, 8-6. The Titans had goals from Jake Skerlong (2), Darius Malecki (2), Luca Wallander (2), Brendan Fitzgerald, and Chase Irwin.
Indoor Track & Field
2/10
The Titan track and field team traveled to Youngstown State University and set multiple personal and school records. The boys 4x200m relay team consisting of Daniel Presto, Ryan Peterson, Mark Povich, and Garrett Grazier set a new school record of 1:36.72. Jayla Antomachi set a new personal and school record with a 36’ 11” throw in the shot put, finishing 2nd overall. Daniel Presto also set a new indoor personal record in the 200m, finishing 8th with a time of 24.23. The girls 4x200m relay team placed 9th with a time of 1:54.45, placing 5th in school history. Octavia Dixon jumped a new personal best in the long jump with a flight of 16’ 5.25”, moving up to 3rd in school history. Lastly, Hannah Sahr ran a new personal indoor best of 1:02.62 in the 400m, finishing 9th on the day.

Boys Swimming lost to Gateway by a score of 91-76. The Titans had 1st place finishes from Noah Lang and Braden Bork. The Titans 200m freestyle consisting of Braden Bork, Noah Lang, Tommy Podgorski, and Will Nebiolo finished with a time of 1:37.51.
Girls Swimming

Girls Swimming lost to Gateway, 89-67. The Titans had individual victories from Sarah Vitale, Ava Melocchi, and Grace Melocchi. The 200m medley team consisting of Kaysia Chelli, Grace Melocchi, Ava Melocchi, and Emily Miller got 1st place with a time of 1:55.05. The Titans also won the 400m freestyle with a time of 3:59.98 from Ava and Grace Melocchi, Emily Miller, and Sarah Vitale.
