Baseball lost their first game of the season to Moon Area, 6-5. The Titans were leading 4-2 going into the top of the 5th until a three-run inning by the Tigers which gave them the lead. The Titans would tie the game with two outs in the bottom of the 7th with a Landon Schiffhauer RBI single. Moon would respond with a run in the top of the 8th which would be the winning run of the game.

The Titans bounced back against Moon Area with a 5-2 victory. The Tigers took the lead in the second inning with a two-run homerun. Shaler would get a run back in the top of the 5th and tied the game in the top of the 6th with a Max Saben RBI sacrifice fly. The Titans would get another run in the 6th when Brady Alexander doubled home Shane Ciganik. The runs continued for the Titans in the top of the 7th when Luke Jarzynka doubled and Brady McGuire homered to extend the lead 5-2. Ben Yeckel would come and shut the door in the 7th with two strikeouts after inheriting a situation with two runners on and no outs. Dante Deleonibus was the winning pitcher for the Titans. On the day, he went 6.1 innings, giving up only two runs on five hits while striking out four and walking two.
Softball

The softball team cruised to a victory over Fox Chapel 9-0. The team has yet to allow a run so far this season.
Volleyball

Boys Volleyball defeated section opponent Butler, 3-0. The Titans were led on the day by Cam Miller with 16 digs and Zach Rosenwald with 40 assists.

Shaler Area picked up a 3-0 sweep over section opponent Fox Chapel. The Titans were led on the day by Dante Palombo with 11 kills and 3 blocks along with Dunnovan Ronel with 13 digs.

The Titans capped their weekend off with a victory at the 40-team Northeastern Invitational. The day was a marathon for the Titans as they were there for 13 hours and played in 18 sets. Shaler Area started off going 4-0 in pool play to earn them a spot in the Gold Playoff Bracket. The Titans would also go 4-0 in bracket play with victories over powerhouse teams like the 10th and 9th ranked teams in the state, Landisville Hempfield and Emmaus, District 1 champion Pennsbury, and the 2nd ranked team in AA, Exeter.
Boys Tennis

Boys tennis was swept by Shady Side Academy 5-0. The players fought hard in their matches, but they were simply outdueled in the losing effort.

In the Sectional Tournament, No. 6 seed senior Will Nebiolo dispatched the No. 11 seed from Baldwin 10-1 in the opening round. No. 9 seed Liam Creagh also advanced to the second round after knocking off the No. 8 seed from Central Catholic 10-1.
In the Quarterfinals, Creagh lost to the No. 1 seed from Fox Chapel, while Nebiolo nearly pulled off an upset against the No. 4 seed from Fox Chapel. Nebiolo got out to leads of 4-1 and 5-2, but he could not prevent the Fox Chapel player’s comeback as he lost 10-8.
Boys Lacrosse

Boys Lacrosse lost to South Fayette, 11-4. The Titans kept it manageable heading into the 4th quarter only trailing 7-4. The Lions put up four goals in the 4th to put the game away. The Titans had goals from Jacob Cable, Gavin Smallwood, Troy Cignetti, and Noah Demchsin.

The Titans picked up another win against Winchester Thurston, 15-0. The Titans were led with a shutout in net from Zac Ehrenberger.
Girls Lacrosse

Girls Lacrosse lost to Shady Side Academy, 17-5. The Titans went down in the first half 10-4 but a 7-1 run in the second half for Shady Side put the game away. The Titans offense was led by Kori Wilson who put up 4 goals on the day.

The Titans responded with a 15-5 win over Freeport. The Titans started the game strong as Skyler Garforth scored on the opening possession. The Titans would use this momentum to go on to win by a comfortable margin. The Titans were led by a strong performance in net from Bailey Heagy along with a 9-goal showing for Kori Wilson.

Game 1
The Titans began the 2024 season with an emphatic 31-14 win over NA2. Junior Hannah Sahr scored a pick six on the Tigers’ first drive of the game. Later, senior QB Bri Gumto threw for 3 touchdowns on the day, connecting with senior Kami Dmitrizak, senior Aubrey Keane, and Sahr.
Game 2
The Titans ended week one with a 6-6 tie against Seneca Valley. Both defenses forced multiple goal line stops and turnovers as they dominated the game. Senior QB Bri Gumto found Sahr in the corner of the endzone for the only Titan score of the game. Sophomore Paige Querio and senior Mariah Pelleitaro each intercepted a pass in the draw.
