Baseball picked up a section win against New Castle, 11-2. The offense was hot for the Titans as they picked up 14 hits in the game. Max Saben led the Titans with three hits on the day. The Titans were led on the mound by Colby Weber who tossed 5 innings with 11 strikeouts on 2 hits and 3 walks.

The Titans would sweep New Castle with a 12-2 win. Shaler’s offense started off strong as they put up four runs in the top of the 1st which was capped off by a Brady Alexander 2-run homerun. The Titans would use their 10 hits to continue their scoring throughout the game. On the mound, Dom Twigg picked up the win for the Titans. Twigg went over four innings while giving up 1 run and 0 hits while walking 5 and striking out 7. The game was concluded with a Logan Bauer home run which put the game in a run-rule.
Softball

Bria Bosiljevac pitched a perfect game as the Titans completely shut down the North Hills Indians offense in a 2-0 victory. The sophomore threw the best game in her young career as she retired each of the 21 batters she faced. Like all year, pitching and defense propelled the team to yet another win. This time, it recorded an incredible accomplishment in the win.

The following day, the softball team posted another shutout, defeating Plum 3-0. The Titans still have yet to allow an opposing runner to cross home plate, increasing the streak to six games to begin the season.
Volleyball

The Titans cruised to a victory over Seneca Valley 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-17). Senior Dante Palombo led the way with 13 kills and senior Zach Rosenwald paced the team with 36 assists as Shaler Area got out to a fast start and never looked back.

Despite finding some resistance against Pine Richland, the Titans swept the Rams 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-13). Palombo and Rosenwald once again led the team in kills and assists with 11 and 34 respectively. Senior Cam Miller shined on the defensive end with 14 digs for Shaler Area.
4/13
This past Saturday, Shaler Area won the Central York Koller classic volleyball tournament. The Titans went 6-2 in pool play before beating Warwick, Manheim Central, and Pennridge in the playoffs. In the final, they defeated North Allegheny (25-18, 22-25, 15-12) to secure the championship.
Boys Lacrosse

Boys Lacrosse picked up a win in a tight non-section game against Franklin Regional, 8-7.
4/10
The Titans lost to South Fayette, 11-4. Shaler was in striking distance in the 4th quarter only being down 7-4. The Lions would respond with four straight goals to put the game away.
4/12
Shaler Area would bounce back to pick up a blowout victory over Trinity, 16-2. The Hillers scored the first goal of the game but a 16-1 run by the Titans would close the game out. Sophomore Zac Ehrenberger was strong in net for the Titans.
Boys Tennis
4/11
Shaler Area Tennis secured a must-win Section 3 victory 4-1 over Central Catholic at Alpha Tennis in Harmar. Senior Will Nebiolo had little trouble dispatching Central Catholic’s No. 1 player 6-0, 6-1. At No. 2, Liam Creagh persevered through tough competition to earn a 6-3, 6-4 win. The Titans’ No. 1 doubles team of Roman Vizzoca and Jack Rios clinched the team victory 6-3, 6-3. The No. 2 doubles pair of Justin Franz and Donny Gill won a 6-3, 6-1 match to push Shaler’s lead to 4-1. Freshman Tyler Bal was the only player to lose, dropping a tough 6-4, 6-2 decision.
A win against Baldwin would see the team return to the playoffs for the second-straight season. Baldwin lost to Central Catholic 3-2 earlier in the year.
Girls Lacrosse

Seneca Valley defeated Shaler Area 19-15. The Raiders started strong, taking a 12-3 lead. As the game entered the second half, the Titans were on the comeback trail. While utilizing each player on the field, the Titans started making plays that allowed them to score goal after goal, cutting the deficit to six at the end of the third quarter. Senior Dalaney Vaughn made interceptions and numerous goals to lead Shaler Area, but the Titans were not able to bring it all the way back.
Girls Flag Football
4/14
Game 1
The Titans pulled out a victory over North Catholic 8-0. Senior quarterback Bri Gumto found sophomore Zoe Cieslak in the corner of the endzone for the only score of the game to give Shaler Area a narrow win.
Game 2
Like the football team did in the fall, the Titan flag football team overpowered the Hampton Talbots. This time it was a 26-0 shutout victory. The offense was led once again by Gumto, picking apart the Talbots defense by spreading the ball around. Junior Hannah Sahr led the way through the air. The Titan defense intercepted three Talbot passes. Sophomore cornerbacks Caroline Decheck and Cieslak each had a pick six, and Querio added an interception to seal the shutout.
