Freya Skye is an English singer, songwriter, and actress from Buckinghamshire, England. Skye is an extremely talented young artist. At just 15 years old, she has released 10 songs, participated in a global singing competition and is set to star in a new Disney movie.

Skye began singing and acting at five years old but only truly dove into her career during the COVID lockdown where she began taking singing and acting lessons. In 2021, at the age of 13, Skye released her debut single titled, “I Love The Way”. She is a very versatile artist, being able to produce different genres of music that is still relevant to her audience.

“When people listen to my music, I hope people enjoy it and think it’s a fun song to listen to. I hope people can relate to my lyrics, especially teenage girls,” she said. “Hopefully, people can hear the things I’m singing and be like, ‘I felt that way, too.’”

Skye enjoys writing her songs, and said it is something that she feels very passionate about. She loves being able to express herself freely through her music, how she can choose the lyrics and how poetic she wants to be with it. When songwriting, she just tries to sit down and discuss her emotions with her team.

“We’ll just have a conversation about how we are feeling. Those will become lyrics in the song which makes it really organic and true to myself,” she said.

In 2022, Skye represented the United Kingdom at the Junior Eurovision competition, performing her song Lose My Head. She ended up placing fifth overall in the competition.

“It was my dream to be able to perform on a big stage in front of lots of people, it really gave me a platform which then gave me the opportunity to get recognized by people like Disney.”

Now she is a part of the cast in Disney’s upcoming movie “Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires”. The movie is set to release later this year and will be available on Disney Plus and Disney Channel. Skye expressed how grateful she was for this opportunity and how much she enjoyed being a part of this experience.

“I feel like a big part of just what made the whole experience so fun was just like the community we were on set. We were all so close, especially the fact that none of us were from New Zealand. None of us in the cast were from there. So we were all kind of taken away from most of our families and where we’re so used to, and all we really had was each other,” she said. “So we really relied on each other. So we grew so close with that which was really really nice. I honestly enjoyed every second of it like it’s so hard to pinpoint moments I loved. The whole thing was just amazing.”

Skye is also a part of the Descendants/Zombies Worlds Collide Tour. The tour will consist of musical performances from both the Descendants and Zombies movie series. Many other stars from the cast of these films will also be performing alongside Skye like Kylie Cantrall, Malia Baker, Malachi Barton, Dara Reneé, Joshua Colley, and Mekonnen Knife. The tour begins this summer on July 17 in San Diego, California and ends September 16 in Fort Worth, Texas. It will make a stop in Pittsburgh at PPG Paints Arena August 14.

“Looking at like our route is just absolutely insane. All the places we’re getting to go to. But I think New York’s a big one. It’ll be my 1st time there. And obviously Madison Square Garden is so iconic. So I’m really looking forward to that,” she said. “But I think I’m also really excited to go to places that like maybe I haven’t heard much about before. I’m just excited to go to those different places and kind of explore and travel more.”
